We Have Adopted Two Kittens!

One kitten was an idea that we had been toying with, but since we have older cats,
we were concerned that one kitten might drive the others nuts with the
energy, excitement and craziness of just being a kitten.

As many of you know, we lost Sam to cancer in April
and it hasn't been the same around here without him. He was very playful, talkative
and we really miss his presence!  Our other cats are getting older and
we have not had a kitten around here for 15 years.

Finn (Finnegan) is a Manx and was adopted from a wonderful family near Elizabeth.
He is the one on the left, mostly white with a few dark spots.
Thus far, he is the quieter one of the two,
but is learning that cat toys are not for decoration purposes and
that if Kailie smacks at him, she is really telling him that she wants to play.

Kailie, who has more dark stripes than white, was adopted from a great couple
in Denver who were ready to have their first child. 
She is the more exuberant one and likes to sit on Dane's shoulders.
She thinks she is the boss this week.

Unsure if Finn knows this yet.

Their first night.  Finn was a bit shy, while Kailie quickly located the buffet.

The Next Day (June 24th).  Finn and Kailie found the cat tree!
They played with their new toys and with each other!

July 14-15th (below)...See how much Finn and Kailie have grown!
They love to play with toys and Finn is larger than Kailie.
He is no longer nervous around Kailie and has tons of confidence
(but not around the dogs, yet, although we are introducing them
slowly to the rest of the family).

         


December 2007...yes, they have both grown tremendously!  Kailie has attempted to be top cat
in the household.  Here she is falling asleep on Dane's suit jacket.  Finn loves to play with all sorts
of toys and still tries to engage Kailie into playful fighting.  Yes, that is Kailie's paw on Dane's jeans.
